DigiCert document-signing certificates
DigiCert issues document-signing certificates for individuals and organisations. Its product information describes certificates that help a recipient assess a document's origin and integrity, with support in widely used document-reading and signing applications.
This is a different purpose from a website TLS certificate or a software code-signing certificate. A document-signing credential is selected for the document workflow and the identity it must represent; certificates from different product categories should not be treated as interchangeable.
Digital signatures and organisational seals
Nota Sign supports DigiCert digital signatures and electronic seals. A personal digital signature is associated with the individual approving the document. An organisation's electronic seal identifies the organisation associated with the document and serves a different role from an employee's personal signature.
DigiCert's document-signing portfolio includes advanced and qualified signature options. The certificate and signing configuration determine the relevant option; the DigiCert name alone does not make every signature a qualified electronic signature under eIDAS.
Complete DigiCert signing in Nota Sign
Prepare the appropriate signing identity or organisation credential for your request. Certificate issuance and identity verification are provider processes; receiving a document in Nota Sign does not replace those checks.
- Open the Nota Sign signing request and review the document.
- Complete the required fields and continue with DigiCert.
- Complete the identity and authorization steps presented for the selected certificate.
- Finish the document workflow in Nota Sign after the signature is approved.
