Finnish identity credentials in a signing journey
Luottamusverkosto, usually called the Finnish Trust Network or FTN, connects electronic identity services used in Finland. Participating banks and mobile operators provide the credentials with which people identify themselves. The network gives online services a common route to these identity providers, including services in the public and private sectors.
For digital signatures, FTN's role is to establish who is taking part in the transaction. It is an identity framework: the certificate and signature used for a document belong to the associated signing service. That distinction matters when a signing request combines identity verification with document approval.
Prepare your bank or mobile identity
Have access to the bank or mobile identification method required by the request. The relevant identity provider handles authentication, so follow its instructions for the credentials you already use. A bank credential and a mobile identity are different ways to establish identity within FTN; their authentication experiences can differ.
Successful identification supplies the identity step for the transaction. You still need to review and authorize the document as part of the signing journey.
Complete the request in Nota Sign
Nota Sign supports the FTN-based signing journey. Open the document in Nota Sign, review its contents and fill in the required fields. Continue with the configured Finnish Trust Network method, complete the requested bank or mobile authentication, and authorize the signing action presented in the workflow.
After the identity and signing steps, complete the process in Nota Sign. The resulting document signature should be understood through that signing method; using an FTN identity alone does not establish that a qualified signing certificate has been issued.
