Freja eID

Freja eID is a Swedish electronic identity and signing provider supporting secure authentication and advanced or qualified electronic signatures.

Nota Sign document signing with Freja eID

A mobile identity with a separate signing role

Freja gives users a digital identity that they can use online and in person. Its Swedish service supports access to public and private services, and the app lets users control the identity information they share. Freja also accepts passports from supported foreign countries for identity verification, extending its registration options beyond Swedish identity documents.

The distinction between identification and signing matters when a document arrives. An identity request establishes who you are; a signing request asks you to approve a document. The purpose of the request determines the action you need to complete.

Have your Freja identity ready

Start with your registered Freja app and the identity verification needed for the requested service. Freja provides registration guidance on its official website. Check the request you receive in the app, including which identity information is being requested and whether the action concerns identification or signing.

Freja eID Plus is described by the provider as an identity used to access Swedish services such as healthcare and tax portals. Access to those services illustrates the identity function; a document signature still requires its own approval.

Sign the document through Nota Sign

Nota Sign integrates Freja into its document-signing journey. Read the document and complete the required fields in Nota Sign, then continue with the configured Freja method. Respond to the requested identity or signing authorization in the app and finish the transaction in Nota Sign.

When using digital signatures, keep the document approval connected to the request you reviewed. Completing identity sharing alone is only the identity portion of the journey. The signature step and completion in Nota Sign establish that the document workflow has progressed beyond authentication.
