Cloud signing through GlobalSign DSS

GlobalSign's Digital Signing Service, or DSS, brings digital signatures and electronic seals into document workflows through a cloud service. It is designed for integrations that need to process documents at volume. The certificate supplies identity information, while the cryptographic signature binds that identity to the signed content so that the result can be verified.

GlobalSign's document-signing portfolio also includes certificates associated with the Adobe Approved Trust List, known as AATL. These are product and trust-program choices within the wider portfolio, so the GlobalSign method configured for your request determines the service you use.

Identify the person or the organization

A personal signature identifies the individual approving the document. An electronic seal identifies the organization associated with the document and supports checking its origin and integrity. GlobalSign offers Qualified Trust Seals through DSS for organization workflows, alongside its other document-signing services.

Before proceeding, establish which of these roles the document requires and use the corresponding signing credential or organization service. AATL participation and a qualified trust service describe different aspects of a solution; an AATL certificate alone should not be taken as a statement that every signature is qualified under eIDAS.

Apply the configured method in Nota Sign

Nota Sign supports GlobalSign signing and electronic seals. For a personal signing request, review the document in Nota Sign, complete the required fields and continue with the configured GlobalSign method. Supply the authorization requested for that method, then complete the document process in Nota Sign.

For an organization seal, follow the configured organization workflow and its authorization requirements. This keeps the certificate role aligned with the action being performed. GlobalSign's document-signing overview explains DSS, AATL signatures and Qualified Trust Seals in more detail.
