Hong Kong's iAM Smart digital identity
iAM Smart is the Hong Kong government's digital-identity platform. It allows users to work with a recognised electronic identity when accessing online services and completing supported digital transactions. The mobile app is the place where the user responds to the relevant identity or signing request.
Nota Sign supports both iAM Smart account login and digital signing. These are separate actions: signing in opens access to the account, while signing authorizes a particular document. Completing login should not be mistaken for approving every document in an envelope.
Prepare an iAM Smart signing request
The documented Nota Sign flow begins with the sender choosing digital signature as the recipient's signing type. The recipient then opens the document, reviews it and completes the required fields.
Keep access to the iAM Smart mobile app so you can respond to the request. The identity used in the app should match the intended signer. For account-registration and digital-function availability, follow the provider's current requirements rather than assuming every account has identical capabilities.
Approve the document on your phone
- Submit the completed document in Nota Sign.
- Select iAM Smart Digital Signing as the digital-signature provider.
- Open the signing notification in the iAM Smart app.
- Check the identification code and approve the signing request to complete the process.
This sequence lets the document remain in Nota Sign while the mobile identity is used to authorize its signature. A notification should be checked against the document you intend to approve, not accepted simply because it has arrived.
The Nota Sign iAM Smart signing guide describes login and signing separately. The official iAM Smart website provides current information about the identity service.
